About Helene Minelli
Artist, Helene Minelli, is primarily self-taught. A native of Sonoma Valley, she grew up in the country surrounded by all the brilliant colors of nature. Helene sees color everywhere - pink soil, lavender skies, and glowing reds in the autumn leaves. Enthralled by the clash of colors in the vines and trees, she paints them again and again. Each one is an individual creation of flaming colors and shapes as they climb and almost disappear up the hillsides of her canvas.
When asked, "why do I paint so many hours a day at my age?" Helene responds, "I'm driven! I need to paint each day and every day; it is the way I love to start my morning."
"The beauty that surrounded me created a strong desire to paint and capture my great environment on canvas. I love color! I see color everywhere! I paint bright wild colors! It makes me feel alive and overjoyed. I am never at a loss what to paint and enthusiastically embrace the challenge of the empty white canvas."
