About Carol Pentleton

An ethereal light permeates Carol's wonderful and mysterious images, reflecting the subtle but vibrant possibilities of color. Influenced by the light-filled expanses of the Luminist school of painting, Carol's abstract images evoke levitation, bubbles in space-time, magnetic fields, hidden passages, or deserted places waiting for an event.

An accomplished designer and illustrator, she has created a universe where dream-like forms reverberate in a harmonic equilibrium. Shapes, colors, and light appear to hover in the shimmering glow of a sunrise, an exploding supernova, or the big bang of creation.

Carol graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA, and a MFA from Syracuse University. She has won several awards in juried competitions.
